An upskilling program for engineers

The fast digitalization of the industry creates new opportunities and increased competitiveness. But it also brings new demands on skills and knowledge among professionals within the area of industrial digitalization. Ingenjör4.0 is a unique, module-based upskilling program aimed for professionals with an engineering background.

Ingenjör4.0 was initiated by The Swedish Production Academy within the strategic innovation program Produktion2030. The program is developed in cooperation with 13 prominent Swedish Universities.

The modules include topics such as Cyber-Physical Systems and Digital Twins, Big Data Machine Learning and Sensors, Human-Robot Collaboration, Standards and Interoperability in Digitized Industry, and much more.

A better understanding and preparation for the next career step

A better understanding and preparation for the next career step

– I have studied Sustainable Production Development and Production Innovation so far, says Camilla and continues:
– The Ingenjör4.0 modules were structured in different ways where the Production Innovation module was more of self-studies and reflections. That was good, as you also learnt how to manage your time to include both everyday work and studies.

Camilla says her new knowledge has made her feedback to suppliers better as she now understands the steps prior and after her own specialty area better. She also sees the value of understanding more about the production process.

– Although I work with the product development today it was valuable to learn more about the production process. If I want to take steps forward as a project manager, I need to have some knowledge about the process as well, she says and finishes:

– I would definitely recommend the modules to my colleagues! Actually, I have three colleagues that are studying the same module as me. And I will for sure study more Ingenjör4.0 modules in the future if I had the chance.

Very well composed

Very well composed

The module gave a very good introduction to Additive Manufacturing, at least for me who had no insight in AM before the course. We had interesting discussions during the webinars. The recorded lectures were at a good level and speed. A lot of interesting extra material as well as thought-provoking questionnaires after each chapter. It was very well composed.

I have tried to apply my new knowledge in my daily work but the idea I had didn’t not pan out well. I am, however, confident that there will be more possibilities in the future.

I have already recommended the module to my colleagues. The coming semester I am hoping to be able to take the Introduction to Sustainable Production Systems and Introduction to Industry 4.0 modules.

What I did appreciate with this module was the increased understanding of designing work-stations and the collaborative tasks that can be done at the work-station. I truly enjoyed the task allocation model as well the webinars when we could interact with the professor. She was very skilled. I would give my best recommendations to sign up for this module.
